Murder investigation launched after man shot dead in Adelaide
South Australian police have launched a murder investigation after a 49-year-old man was found shot dead north of Adelaide.
Emergency services responded to reports of a fatal shooting at Brady Street in Virginia just before 3am today.
"Police believe that all parties in these circumstances are known to each other," Northern District Detective Inspector Mark Gallagher said.

"Police are currently talking to a number of people who are assisting us with our inquiries. We are still searching for a firearm that is involved in the incident."
Det Insp Gallagher said those assisting police are not considered suspects.
"It is early in the investigation and we are chasing up (a) multiple number of inquiries. No one has been arrested," he said.
"We are treating this as a murder investigation. It's too early to say what firearm was used."
Police launched a major operation involving officers from the Special Tasks and Rescue Group.
Police raided a house in nearby Odgers Street in Virginia just before 9am.

Officers later said two people from the house are assisting with inquiries and a suspect remains at large.
But police have stressed there is no danger to the community.
Forensic experts are currently examining the crime scene at Brady Street.
The area remains cordoned off to the public.
