Perth actor Charmaine Bingwa lands role on US series The Good Fight alongside Rose Leslie
Perth actor Charmaine Bingwa has just landed her next big break.
The rising star has been announced as a series regular in the US TV show The Good Fight — the spin-off to the hugely successful series The Good Wife.
Bingwa will star alongside Christine Baranski, Rose Leslie and Justin Bartha in the legal drama that follows the trials and tribulations of a trailblazing legal firm in Chicago.
The 2018 Heath Ledger Scholarship recipient is set to play Carmen Moyo, described as a tough young lawyer from a working class background who shakes up the fictional Reddick, Boseman and Lockhart law firm.
“I’m absolutely thrilled (about the casting),” Bingwa told PerthNow.
I’m absolutely thrilled
“Just seeing everyone wearing masks, (especially) coming from WA, and it’s just so cold filming in New York City.”
The actor has been living in Perth for the past year, after returning home from LA during the pandemic.
It’s not the first time Bingwa has rubbed shoulders with Hollywood elite — having starred alongside Phylicia Rashad in Amazon Prime’s Black Box, part of the Welcome To the Blumhouse thriller movie collection.
