Married at First Sight: Meet WA brides Beth Moore, Booka Nile and Rebecca Zemek

Here we go again.

Just as the clock runs out on the 15 minutes of fame of last year’s brides and grooms, Channel Nine is gearing up to send another 18 singles down the aisle and once again ruin the sanctity of marriage.

Of those tying the metaphorical knot with someone they’ve never met, three women hail from WA.

And with their weddings less than a week away, let’s get to know the brides before they don white dresses, parade down the aisle and exchange vows with strangers — in front of the whole country.

BETH MOORE

Beth Moore, a 39-year-old retail worker and student, is one of the oldest brides-to-be.

Describing herself in three words, Beth says she is ‘genuine, big-hearted and passionate’ — which, if her humble Instagram page is anything to do by, seems pretty accurate.

“Closing in on 40, Beth has always wanted kids and is sad she may not have enough time left, because she has a lot of love to give. She's feeling the pressure to meet the right man to have a baby with,” her MAFS bio reads.

“Beth ideally wants to be matched with someone who also wants a family. She is committed and dedicated in a relationship, but when the love of her life broke her heart after nine years together she put up the walls, withdrew, and has been single ever since.

“This woman with a graduate diploma in psychology is a deep thinker who is sensitive and emotional. A free spirit with a big heart, Beth comes to MAFS after really struggling to find “the one”.

“Beth also has a silly, funny side and would love someone to laugh with and “take the piss out of”. She is searching for a down-to-earth, passionate partner… with rugged Mick Fanning looks!”

Here’s hoping she finds her hunky surfer and not just another fish in the sea.

Now this is one I’m excited for.

Booka, a 31-year-old musician and mental health worker, feels like she’s going to be the chaotic bride we love to watch — revealing on Instagram she’d been banned from Tinder.

This blonde beauty splits her time between touring with a heavy metal band as a singer and keyboard player, but also works in a psychiatric hostel — helping those with mental health issues integrate back into society.

She dropped out of school, which didn’t please her academic family, to pursue a career with the band Make Them Suffer — which is poetic in itself.

She’s also in another band called Internet Friends, which have played at Perth’s Indian Ocean Hotel, if she looks familiar to non-metal heads.

“Remember when I uprooted my life just over 4 years ago and quit my career to join a lil internationally touring metal band called Make Them Suffer?,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Well... plot twist I’m going on (MAFS) to marry a total stranger.

“Touring for more than half the year, every year since 2017 had made meeting someone special a tad tricky and since I’ve been grounded at home thanks to a certain virus, have been banned from Tinder (LOL).

“And because I’m a bit crazy, this just feels like the perfect opportunity to throw myself into the deep end and do something wild and hope that whoever I’m matched with turns out to be a legend!

“Will they be able to handle my love of guttural vocals and breakdowns? Here’s bloody hoping!”

‘A force to be reckoned with’.

If her MAFS official bio is anything to go by, Rebecca looks likely to rock the boat.

The 27-year-old business manager is rumoured to be matched with ex-AFL player and charity CEO Jake Edwards — who played five games for Carlton in 2008.

Interesting enough, Rebecca only recently separated from her fiancé after 10 years together, who also happens to be an AFL player.

She claims there was infidelity on both sides and knew their relationship was done for.

“She’s extroverted, adventurous, and can be savage and stubborn,” her MAFS bio reads.

“Her flirtatious ways and love of attention see other women being intimidated by her, according to Rebecca, who doesn't like to apologise.

“Rebecca is looking for a partner with good banter, cheek and attitude, and she has a list of physical attributes that tick her boxes.

“As long as her partner isn't a lover of Netflix by night or an open-mouth food chewer, love may yet be found!”

Only time will tell if the wedding bells will turn into wedded bliss for our WA brides.
