FuelWatch warns petrol prices to increase by $20 a tank on Wednesday

Petrol prices are set to skyrocket across Perth tomorrow, with the average cost of regular unleaded set to jump by more than 30 cents per litre.

Drivers are being encouraged to fill up tonight, and avoid being hit with prices up to $1.59 per litre.

The average price of ULP will increase by 33 cents per litre to $1.52 per litre.

This means if motorists fill up today, they can save around $20 on a 60 litre tank of petrol.

Due to Perth’s price cycle, Monday and Tuesday petrol prices are generally the cheapest.

Tuesday’s cheapest fuel is available for $1.13 at Puma Upper Swan, $1.11 at Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and $1.12 at 7-Eleven Forrestdale.

If you do need to fill up tomorrow, WA’s petrol price watchdog FuelWatch says there are still over 40 sites selling below $1.18.

The difference between the highest and lowest priced sites is 51 cents, which means drivers can save up to $30 on a 60 litre tank if they do their research.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for $1.15 at Shell High Wycombe, $1.10 at Costco Perth Airport (membership required) and $1.15 at 7-Eleven Banksia Grove.
