Dreamworld inquest: Health and safety officials face new grilling
More Workplace Healthy and Safety officials are expected to be grilled at the inquest into the 2016 Dreamworld disaster today.
It comes after explosive and damning revelations were heard late last week, when a WH&S Queensland report was shown to the court.
It revealed the Thunder River Rapids Ride should have never been operating when it killed four tourists on October 25 2016.
The report was scathing. It found the ride was "unsafe to operate" due to "excessive corrosion... crumbling concrete... several slats were missing..." and there were "no labels identifying emergency stop controls."
One of the lead investigators from WH&S is due to take the stand, along with WH&S engineers this week.
Cindy Low, Kate Goodchild, her brother Luke Dorsett and his partner Roozi Araghi died after a water pump malfunctioned, resulting in two rafts colliding and flipping.
The inquest will run for the next five days before adjourning until next month.
