CommBank issues leaves customers unable to use cards
Australia's biggest bank has said some of its customers are experiencing payment issues at point-of-sale terminals and others are struggling to view cards and loans details online.
The Commonwealth Bank apologised today to customers unable to use its services due to technical problems around 1pm.
"We're aware of an issue impacting some POS transactions on some CBA terminals, as well as viewing cards and loans in the CommBank app and NetBank," a spokesperson told 9News.com.au in a statement.
"We're working to fix this as soon as possible. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience."
9News understands the difficulties viewing cards extends to CommBank customers' credit and debit card payments, viewing online accounts and some home loan statements, online transactions, Cardless Cash and internal cash transfers.
The Commonwealth Bank this year beat market expectations with a $4.48 billion first-half economic profit.
It was also revealed last month through an internal review of digital banking platforms that more than 8000 customers had received multiple low-value deposits into their accounts with potentially offensive or abusive messages in the descriptions of the transaction.
