Trigg young gun among WA’s best surf lifesavers
TRIGG Island Surf Life Saving Club young gun Will Savage has been named among the best surf lifesavers in WA.
The 16-year-old won the Youth Athlete of the Year award at Surf Life Saving WA‘s annual Awards of Excellence on Saturday.
Will became the first person win gold in both the open ironman and under 17 ironman at this year’s WA Surf Life Saving Championships, and won a bronze medal at the Aussies.
He was also part of WA’s Western Suns Pool Rescue team.
Trigg Island picked up two more awards, with Matthew Bowbridge awarded Coach of the Year and Jackson Ballardin named Youth Volunteer of the Year.
Bowbridge will vie for the national Coach of the Year award at Surf Life Saving Australia‘s Awards of Excellence later this year.
