High Wycombe scooters taking the sport by storm after Australasian Scooter Association National Titles showing
HIGH Wycombe scooter rider Tyler Jennings (16) is shaping up to be a big player in the sport after taking out overall champion in the boys under-16s at the Australasian Scooter Association National Titles last month.
Jennings and fellow local Karee Funeyvall (19) travelled to Sydney to participate in the nationals where Funeyvall secured fifth place in the Open Girls division.
Both train at the High Wycombe Skate Park, the same park frequented by pro-scooter rider Ben Thomas.
City of Kalamunda Mayor John Giardina said the pair were passing on their knowledge to the next generation of scooter riders, after they recently joined pro-skate, scooter and BMX group Freestyle Now’s coaching squad.
They have been mentoring other young people in their community through the City’s skate, scooter and BMX clinics in Forrestfield, High Wycombe and Kalamunda.
“On behalf of the City, I would like to congratulate Tyler and Karee on their achievements and contribution to the sport,” he said.
“It’s exciting to see the sport take off and we are pleased to be a part of that with the facilities and clinics provided here in the City.”
