Brighton Bombers footballer Jay Boyle kicks monster 80-metre goal that goes through at half-post height
Move over WAFL superboot Cody Leggett, you’ve got an Adelaide rival keen to take your crown.
Perth midfielder Leggett created headlines in April when he launched into a massive torpedo that split the big sticks against Swan Districts from an estimated 92 metres.
But Leggett’s roost, as impressive as it was, bounced through the goals. And his rival, division two Adelaide Football League player Jay Boyle, has an added party trick - his 80-metre spiral goes through at half-post height.

Boyle, who plays for the appropriately named Brighton Bombers, let rip from the centre circle of a weekend game against Camden during his team’s 22-point win.
Like Leggett, he needed only a couple of steps to launch into his big kick. But the back story to the monster major makes it even more entertaining.
Boyle, it seems, remembers very little of a goal that has everyone talking.
“I don’t remember a whole lot actually – basically nothing,” Boyle told Adelaide’s CoastCity Weekly Messenger.
“I copped a knock and got concussed in the last quarter, a bit before the kick, but just got up and kept on going.
“I was pretty dazed and it wasn’t until after the game I kind of came to a bit more and the boys were telling me all about it.”
Not sure how the concussion rule is going over in suburban footy in SA. But you have to admit, it’s one hell of a kick!
