Three men associated with outlaw motorcycle gang arrested after SA Police seize $500k cash, 1kg ice
THREE men associated with the outlaw motorcycle gang, the Descendants, have been arrested after police seized more than $500,000 cash and a 1kg of the drug ice.
Four cars and a cache of prohibited weapons, hidden inside at properties across Adelaide, were also seized during raids on Wednesday and Thursday.
The lucrative haul of methamphetamine and money, which police allege is proceeds of crime, is another significant bust linked to the longstanding Descendants bikie club.
The three men are accused by police of being part of a syndicate operating within the club, which has been involved in drug activity since 2016.
The trio were taken down by six entities in a joint operation including the Australian Federal Police, SA Police and the Australian Taxation Office.
Two men, aged 32 and 46, charged with trafficking a controlled drug, were remanded in custody after they appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday. A man, 36, was remanded in custody after facing court yesterday. He is charged with trafficking a controlled drug and dealing in proceeds of crime.
SA Detective Superintendent Mark Trenwith, Officer in Charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch, said there was high demand for ice.
“(We) know too well the impact of illegal drugs on our streets and in our homes. We hope this activity sends a message that this kind of illegal activity in South Australia won’t be tolerated,” he said.
