Teen girl 'injured nail salon worker with knife' in mall brawl
A young teen girl is set to face court after a nail salon worker suffered a knife injury in incident in a Sydney mall yesterday.
The 13-year-old girl became involved in an altercation with a 14-year-old at a nail salon in Warringah Mall in Brookvale at around 3pm yesterday.
A 42-year-old woman who worked in the salon intervened and sustained a knife injury to her arm.
She and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to royal North Shore Hospital.
Dramatic footage posted to Snapchat shows the worker holding her arm to stem the blood flow.
The 13-year-old girl fled the scene while the 14-year-old was uninjured.
Police from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended, and following inquiries the 13-year-old girl attended Dee Why Police station last night.
The teen was charged with reckless wounding, affray and custody of a knife in a public place.
She was granted conditional bail and will appear at a children’s court on January 22.
