Stacey Tierney: Melbourne dancer death police probe closed
Police have closed their investigation into the death of a 29-year-old British fitness instructor at a Melbourne strip club following a coronial inquest in the UK.
Stacey Tierney, from Manchester, was found dead in the Dreams Gentlemen's Club on December 19, 2016.
"There will be no charges stemming from this incident and no further police action," a police spokesman said on Friday.
Ms Tierney was working at the club while travelling in Australia and saving to study nursing.
She passed out and died at an "after party" with two men in the management offices of the club which began in the early hours of December 18, an inquest held in England was told last week.
Neither man called an ambulance or tried to assist Ms Tierney.
A combination of drug toxicity from alcohol, heroin, ecstasy and cocaine caused her death, the coroner found, adding that "unanswered questions" remained over what happened in the long period before her death.
The private room was the only area of the club not covered by CCTV.
