Queensland woman dies after stabbing
A woman in Central Queensland has died after she was allegedly stabbed to death in front of her children.
Emergency crews were called to a home in Rockhampton just before 7pm yesterday.
Neighbours called for help when they saw two young children running from the home screaming for help.
On arrival, officers found the woman with multiple stab wounds to her abdomen and neck.
She was rushed to hospital but died from her injuries.
Police searched nearby bushland and found a man with what they believe are self-inflicted wounds.
The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition and remains under police guard.
"Obviously they are distraught when they have witnessed their mother tragically become deceased," Detective Acting Inspector Luke Peachey told 9News.
A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
