Police hunt stolen vintage car

POLICE are searching for a vintage car that was stolen while being lovingly restored by its owner.

A North Beach man has released photos of his 1976 Holden Torana in the hope someone might recognise it.

The man found the car missing from the carpark of his Charles Riley Road unit on November 27 last year.

He had been restoring the Torana, which he had owned since buying it new 42 years ago.

The stolen Torana.

It is green with a white roof and the license plate number is XHO 555.

The car would have needed to be towed from the units as it was not driveable and missing its rear bumper, grille and back seats.

Restored 1970s Toranas can fetch more than $100,000 online.

Anyone with information should call Scarborough Police on 9441 6400.
