Photos: Spring Rebellion for climate action
Thousands of climate activists are taking direct, disruptive action across Australia as part of Extinction Rebellion's international week of rebellion.
Many people feel they have exhausted all other options trying to get governments to take action. They feel they must now take non-violent direct action that disrupts business as usual.
On October 7, some 30 people were arrested in Sydney for blocking Parramatta Road. The next day in Melbourne, around 50 people were arrested for blocking intersections in the CBD..
Extinction Rebellion's call on governments and the media is to "tell the truth" about the climate emergency and take action now.
Green Left photographers from around the country took the photos.
