Perth woman Tracee MacMillan offers $25,000 to find missing toy poodle Remmy after she disappeared three months ago
A family is so desperate to find their missing toy poodle Remmy after she disappeared almost three months ago that they have taken the extraordinary measure of offering $25,000 to anyone who finds or returns the lost pooch.
Since Remmy’s disappearance on November 27, her owner Tracee MacMillan has gone to extreme lengths to find the missing pup including engaging in the services of an Ace Ventura-style pet detective.
Remmy and Tracee were walking in Riverside Gardens in Bayswater when the toy poodle was attacked by a bigger dog.
“Once released from the dog’s mouth Remmy RAN AWAY in a terrified state. She was last seen whimpering and running towards King William Drive (Bayswater, PERTH),” the first of dozens of posts Tracee shared to Facebook said.
“She took off and I couldn’t catch her. She ran into vacant bush land.”
Immediately offering a $1000 reward, Tracee put up missing posters across Bayswater and Perth, shared countless images and details about her beloved dog and reached out to the Arthur & Co Pet Concierge for help.
Today, almost three months after poor Remmy vanished, the $1000 reward was multiplied by 25.
Prior to the sudden increase, missing posters and social media call-outs had only referred to a “large reward”.
When there was still no sign of little Remmy on December 1, Tracee asked social media users to check their gardens and security cameras.
The heartbreaking post said: “She is missed dearly and we really want her home safe.”
By Christmas Eve, extensive ground and water searches had been conducted, but to no avail.
“Remmy is still missing. We really need her home so if someone has her please bring her back. This last month has been so hard on us all and my family and friends have been the best support please keep looking & don’t give up hope,” Tracee said in the post.
It came just days after she desperately called out to anyone who may have bought or been given a black poodle in the past few months.
“We know Remmy WAS there but she does not appear to be there now. HAS SHE BEEN PICKED UP & KEPT? Have you seen or heard a dog whimper or bark? HAVE YOU RECENTLY PURCHASED OR BEEN GIVEN A BLACK POODLE?,” the post said.
By January 7, Arthur & Co Pet Concierge revealed via social media that Tracee and her family had expanded their frantic search for Remmy to creeks and ponds and had run ads in The West Australian and online and door-knocked a number of homes.
“We have pursued any and every lead yet this precious dog with a missing front tooth and a white chin remains missing. Her family are devastated. Please - If you know something, say something. All info helps. If you have Remmy, please give her back. You won’t be in trouble. There is a large reward for any information leading to Remmy’s safe return. Please call 0406 834 001 with any information.
This afternoon Tracee promised a $25,000 for anyone who found or returned little Remmy.
