Motorcycle rider charged with evading police after chase east of Perth
A 22-year-old man has been charged after a police chase through Armadale yesterday.
It is alleged police attempted to stop a motorcyclist on Railway Avenue shortly before 6pm due to an expired registration.
Police allege that the rider immediately accelerated away, crossed to the incorrect side of the road, before attempting to ride over a median strip back onto the correct side of the road, where he lost control and crashed onto the road.
The rider was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance with a broken arm and cuts.
He has been charged with failing to stop, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, no authority to drive, using an unlicensed vehicle and possessing drug paraphernalia.
He will face Armadale Magistrates Court on August 3.
