• SCOTT Morrison wants to create a new national day — separate from Australia Day — to honour and acknowledge the history of indigenous Australians. As the Prime Minister stepped up his attack on local councils exploiting divisions over our national holiday, he also insisted Australia Day must remain on January 26.

• TONIGHT at 6pm, Billy Slater will learn whether his wonderful playing career will finish in front of 80,000 fans or three members of the NRL’s judiciary panel.
