Images released of man linked to violent sex assault
New South Wales Police have released images of a man they want to speak to about the sexual assault of a woman in Sydney’s south-west earlier this month.
On November 11, a 51-year-old woman was walking through Lighthorse Park in Liverpool when she noticed a man was watching her.
As the woman approached a set of stairs leading to Newbridge Road, the man approached her and punched her in the face several times, according to a police statement.
He then physically and sexually assaulted the woman, before her screams alerted people nearby who chased the man onto Newbridge Road, Terminus Street and then George Street before losing sight of him.
At the time, the woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital with facial injuries including lacerations, bruising and damage to her teeth.
In new CCTV images released by police today, a man detectives are looking to speak to can be seen wearing a white T-shirt with a crow and skull logo on the back, pink shorts, black socks and white shoes.
In the images, the dark-haired man was also carrying a Coles shopping bag.
Authorities are urging any members of the public who may have seen the man on the night of November 11 to contact police.
Anyone with information that may assist in police enquiries should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
