'I don't know how I'm going to live without him'
The girlfriend of a young man killed in Melbourne's south-east overnight has expressed her devastation over her partner's death, telling 9News he made her laugh "every second".
Springvale man Thomas Tran, 20, died after a brawl broke out on Atherton Road, Oakleigh, around 8pm yesterday between a group of people.
Mr Tran's girlfriend said he was a caring and loving man, and the "most funniest person".
"He loves his family, he loves his friends he's just a great guy, he didn't deserve that," she said.
"The biggest jokester, his laugh was pretty contagious."
Mr Tran's family was at the crime scene this morning, and told 9News he was at the gym last night before he was killed.
Four people were arrested, including a 15-year-old from Dandenong, a 20-year-old from Dandenong South and two 19-year-olds from Lynbrook and Lyndhurst, but were later released "pending further enquiries".
His family said they had "no idea why this happened" and his aunties and parents prayed for their only child.
The man's girlfriend said she was struggling to process the sudden loss of her partner.
"I don't know how I'm going to live without him, but I just have to keep going for him," she said.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have been in the area of Chester Street, Eaton Mall and Atherton Road between 7.30pm and 8pm that may have camera footage to come forward.
