Good Samaritans recover $2000 worth of loot from underage burglars
Strangers have chased down a group of underage burglars who ransacked a sportswear store in Melbourne's south east.
CCTV shows the four teenagers strolling into the Sportspower store in Cranbourne before they begin to scoop up clothes before fleeing.
Jenna Clark, who works at the store, sensed something wasn't right. When the group fled the 19-year-old gave chase, catching up with one of them.
"I tried to stop him. I put my arm out and he grabbed my lanyard that I was wearing and hit me right into the neck," she told 9News.
As Ms Clark returned to the store, fellow workers, customers and members of a nearby gym stepped in, unwilling to let the underage thieves get away.
"Everyone was keeping an eye (out), calling out saying 'they're down the next street'," Sportspower co-owner Sarah Naismith told 9News.
A quick-thinking bystander also offered his help, parking his car in front of the gang's stolen vehicle forcing the group to flee to a local park.
The teenagers were eventually caught and more than $2000 worth of clothes was recovered.
