Girl, 9, hands over cash at knifepoint as family store robbed in Sydney
A nine-year-old girl has calmly handed over cash and cigarettes at knifepoint, after her family's shop was targeted by a masked robber.
Jasmine Wang was with her 37-year-old grandmother last night at the Lidcombe convenience store, when a masked man walked in and pulled out a kitchen knife.
The robber, in a skeleton mask struck at the shop on Water Road at 8.30pm.
Jasmine calmly handed over cash from the register, as well as thousands of cigarettes.
She told her grandmother, who was armed with a metal lolly scoop, to stay back. Jasmine, said: "He was like just screaming at us to put the things into the bag. "I was just kind of scared and frightened of what happened."
The thief fled by the back door. It's the second time the store has been targeted. Jasmine's mother Sharon had a gun pointed at her head by two men last month.
During the robbery the man's mask slipped off his face.
Police are urging anybody who recognises him to contact Crimestoppers
