'Enraged woman' vandalises Mercedes worth $400,000
A $400,000 brand new Mercedes Benz parked in an Adelaide street has been left looking more than a little worse for wear after a bizarre vandalism attack.
Its windows were left smashed, mirrors destroyed and offensive remarks spray painted across the sides and bonnet.
Witnesses said it was the work of an enraged woman.
"I don't think it takes a genius to figure out what's going on there," one witness said.
The attack on the Mercedes S63 sports car unfolded in King William Street at Kent Town, in the city's inner-east just before 12:30 this afternoon.
It was parked across from an apartment complex at the time.
The woman responsible went about her damaging work in full view of residents - and a group of stunned workers.
"We were just digging a hole and we saw a woman rock up (and) jump out with a can of spray paint and went to town on it," one worker said.
"(She) then jumped back in and pulled out a bat and went to town on it again."
The aftermath attracted plenty of attention, with passers-by on the busy street taken aback by the words scrawled across the car, which can't be shown for legal reasons.
"It's a bit confronting," another nearby worker said.
Others stopped to take photos and shared them online.
A few hours after the car was vandalised, a woman emerged from the apartments, but didn't say anything when asked about the incident.
She then shifted the car into the apartment's underground garage.
9NEWS contacted police in the time after the vandalism occurred, they said no report had been made.
However, three hours later, officers arrived to take photographs and talk to witnesses.
Officers have said the victim has since come forward to make an official complaint.
