Elderly woman bashed, left on street for two hours
Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was brutally attacked in the Far North Queensland town of Port Douglas.
Last night officers were called to Nautilus Street where the 75-year-old victim was found seriously injured.
Police say she was assaulted by two people while walking along the street and knocked to the ground unconscious.
The woman, from the nearby town of Craiglie, was left by the road for two hours before passers-by found her and called police.
She suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Mossman hospital, where she remains in stable condition.
Police are appealing for witnesses in the area between 6.30pm and 8.30pm yesterday, or drivers with dash cam footage to contact officers.
