Deputy Nationals leader Niall Blair steps down
The NSW government minister for agriculture and water in the regions is stepping down a day after the state election.
Minister for Primary Industries, Regional Water and Trade and Industry Niall Blair said this evening he does not want to be considered for any new ministerial roles or as deputy leader of the National Party but said he would remain in the Legislative Council.
In a statement, he cited personal reasons for the decision and denied it was because of the "challenges and incorrect accusations" about the government's management of water in the state's rivers.
