Two men being treated for COVID-19 at Liverpool have died, taking the NSW death toll to 18, health authorities confirmed on Monday.
An 86-year-old man who tested positive for the infection died in Liverpool Hospital. He was a resident of Opal Care Bankstown aged care facility.
A statement from NSW Health on Monday said there were now five cases — two residents and three staff — associated with the facility.
A second man, 85, confirmed to have COVID-19 also died in Liverpool Hospital. He was a close contact of another confirmed case.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in NSW has risen to 2637, with 249 people being treated by NSW Health.
