Chance to stop and smell roses for MercyVille Craigie residents

Chance to stop and smell roses for MercyVille Craigie residents

NEGLECTED garden beds at a Craigie aged care home have had a makeover.

Volunteers from Bunnings Whitfords and some of the MercyVille home’s residents spent Thursday installing a new flower garden that can be enjoyed all year round.

“Earlier in the year, one of our staff members approached Bunnings to see if they could help us to give our flower gardens a new lease on life,” MercyVille service manager Alison Devonport said.

“Research has shown that smell and touch sensations actually promote concentration and alertness, so the garden should be a very beneficial addition for our residents, as well as a beautiful one.”
