Blacktown crash: Woman fighting for life after her car hit by truck
A woman is fighting for life after a truck smashed into her car at a busy intersection in western Sydney last night.
The 24-year-old was on the Great Western Highway at Blacktown when she stopped at the intersection of Flushcombe Road at about 7.30pm.
A small tipper truck, driven by a 35-year-old man, was travelling east in the same direction when it collided with the back of the stationary car.
The woman suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
The truck driver was not injured but taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police are investigating the crash and have asked witnesses to come forward.
