Armadale lotto winners who scooped $652,000 'thought they'd won $17'
Selfless lotto winners from Perth’s south-east have revealed their first thought was how they could share their windfall.
The young Armadale family scooped a division one prize worth $652,000 from Saturday’s draw.
The family has only ever played the odd game and said their secret this time was picking numbers based off birthdays.
“I’m not a regular player so I didn’t really realise how much I’d won. I thought it was $17,” one of the winners said.
“I was ecstatic, absolutely ecstatic when I found out how much it was.”
She said thoughts quickly turned to how their fortune could go to helping others.
“This will help all of us to pay off our mortgages and go on our first family holiday.”
Their winning ticketed was purchased locally from Armadale Newsagency.
Three other division one winners from WA are yet to come forward.
There’s $2 million up for grabs in tonight’s OZ Lotto draw. Tickets can be bought up until 6pm tonight.
