About $200,000 worth of damage caused to vacant unit in suspicious fire at Christie Downs
Residents of a unit block in Adelaide's south had to be evacuated after a vacant property was extensively damaged by a suspicious fire.
Police and fire crews were called to Nadia Cres in Christie Downs just after midnight to find the single-storey unit ablaze.
There were 25 firefighters from three MFS and two CFS fire trucks who brought the blaze under control in 20 minutes, using high pressure lines.
Neighbours were evacuated by police while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading to an adjoining unit.
Crews remained on scene for a few hours to ensure hotspots were put out.
About $200,000 worth of damage was caused.
Fire Cause Investigators attended the scene earlier this morning and believe the fire was deliberately lit.
