West Perth exhibition captures familiar subjects ‘In the Moment’
ARTISTS Chloe Tupper and Kathryn Haug will showcase their latest work in a West Perth exhibition next month.
The exhibition ‘In the Moment’ at Stala Contemporary from June 12 to July 5 will combine still life, landscape and portraiture works.
Both artists sought to capture subjects familiar to them within a specific period of time; both in terms of season, time, place, and in terms of colour, light and form.
Tupper said the paintings were made using the alla prima method, done in the first attempt within one day while the whole surface of the painting was wet.
“This gives especial significance and clarity to the marks used, and the colours and light of the subject are captured as the artist sees them in the moment,” she said.
