Miguel Maestre back with family on The Living Room
FRESH off the Dancing with the Stars dance floor “Crazy Bull” Miguel Maestre is back on the couch with his best friends as part of the new series of The Living Room.
The cheeky Spaniard and celebrity chef Miguel Maestre will join co-hosts Amanda Keller, Chris Brown, Barry Du Bois in the new-look television show delivering food, lifestyle and fun segments.
Maestre, who will cook with ruby chocolate in the first episode, said the viewers would see a renovation, a little bit of travel and experience the chemistry for which the presenters have become known.
“It’s really beautiful, being back with Amanda, Chris and Barry is just amazing,” he said.
“I think it’s what we were born to do, the four of us interacting.
“We have been together for eight years and you cannot manufacture that chemistry because the audience can see right through that.
“For us we are like family, we are really close, it’s a lovely energy and we really do love each other and viewers see that.”
Bringing a bunch of new segments to the show, as well as some old favourites, Maestre said he believed viewers would enjoy what they would see on Friday nights from the couch.
“We’re doing a lot of things differently including a different set, which is exciting,” he said.
“And hot or not will be back, so we have been researching the silliest things.”
One thing that is not returning to the screen is Maestre on the dance floor, but he is continuing the sport privately.
“I don’t have much time as it is with The Living Room, my business and my family, but I wanted to go on the show to raise awareness of mental health so that was a big incentive for me,” he said.
“I put my life on hold and trained every day for seven weeks giving it everything I had, I wasn’t ready to leave so soon and it was emotional for me.
“I love dancing and have taken up flamenco dancing with teacher Marina Tamayo and my dance partner from the show Megan Wragg is doing it with me – I love it.”
The Living Room starts on Friday, March 29 from 7.30pm on Channel 10.
