Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby slammed for 'Bali bitches' Instagram post appearing to mock coronavirus outbreak

Former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has been slammed on social media for appearing to mock the outbreak of coronavirus during a ‘hen’s night reveal’ party.

The 29-year-old was labelled “insensitive” after uploading a photo wearing face masks emblazoned with ‘Bali Bitches’ at The Palm, Sunderland, as they surprised their friend Lauren Causer with a trip to the Indonesian island.

Crosby, who appeared on the latest series of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Australia, was soon inundated with responses questioning how appropriate the masks were.

“This is in poor taste,” one commenter wrote.

“This photo is just a no. There are people dying,” another said.

Another user accused Crosby of removing negative comments about the masks.

“Why have you deleted all the comments calling you out about how poor taste those masks are?”

Despite the backlash, the reality TV star took to her Instagram story to reveal she “had the best night” celebrating and said she thought the masks would be a “really fun idea”.

Despite the backlash, Crosby continued spruiking the masks on her Instagram story.

“We ordered the coronavirus masks because you know how everyone’s in such a panic about that at the minute,” she told her 7.1 million Instagram followers.

“I thought it would be a really fun idea instead of doing hen-do tops because we’re doing a long haul flight, to do our little masks with ‘Bali bitches’ on.”

The post has been ‘liked’ more than 70,000 in two days, with the reality star appearing to refuse to address the backlash on her social media.
