Big Brother 2020: Hannah Campbell opens up on split with Kyle Cranley, brother of Bachelorette's Cam Cranley
Hannah Campbell says Big Brother has changed her life for the better, helping her escape a “bad place”, after a gut-wrenching split turned her world upside down.
The 25-year-old Perth beauty says her motivation to apply for the hit reality TV show came after a devastating break-up left her heartbroken.
She lodged her application in the middle of the night while “bawling her eyes out”.
“I’ve never been in a bad way like that before and I was just doing whatever I could to try and pull myself out of the mental state I was in,” Campbell told AAA.
“I was back living with my parents and I was trying to come to terms with literally the man who I thought the world of who I was so in love with completely broke my heart.
“I was doing everything — yoga, seeing a psychologist – I was trying anything and everything to get myself better and back to Hannah and Big Brother has given me the opportunity to do that and it’s amazing.”
Her former partner, Kyle Cranley, is the brother of well-known Bachelorette runner-up Cam Cranley.
She said she still struggles to talk about the split and wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.
“At the end of the day betrayal is everywhere and it’s made me the person who I am today and I’m a stronger person from it,” she said.
It’s unlikely the Perth beauty will be single for long, her appearance on the show seeing her gain plenty of male followers on social media and revealing that men are just “spilling their heart” to her.
“The hard thing is what I’ve learnt, is that it takes a strong heart to learn to love again. It’s not an easy road, opening up to someone is really hard,” she said.
The avid football player hopes the next man she falls in love with is the one she wants to marry.
“I don’t want to go through this bull.... anymore,” Campbell joked.
“I’m ready — I honestly always thought I’d see myself at this stage settled down with someone.”
