Shape up at Barbertown opens in Forrestfield

A NORTHERN suburbs chain of barbershops has opened its fifth store and first in Perth’s southern suburbs.

Shape up at Barbertown has been operating in Perth since 2014 with stores in Aveley, Banksia Grove, Butler and Hocking.

This week it opened another in Hawaiian’s Forrestfield Shopping Centre redevelopment, which was owner Chris Demetri’s biggest store yet.

“It’s been a pleasure being welcomed into the communities near our other stores and we can’t wait to be part of the Forrestfield family,” he said.

“I worked as a barber in London for years, learnt from the best and when we moved to Australia with our family I thought there was a chance to bring some of that old-fashioned service and charm to Perth.”

The barbershop caters for all ages, from children’s back to school cuts and hair art, to skin fades and latest trends, to traditional hot towel shaves.

It will trial a special seniors’ day on Thursdays between 9am and 2pm with discounts and ‘60s rock and roll hits to set the mood.

Adults can get a complimentary beer with any cut.

The store opened its doors on July 4 and will hold an official opening on Saturday, July 6 with superhero meet and greets and photo opportunities.
