Joondalup gym beatsGX combines fitness, fun and cinema
A JOONDALUP gym aims to change the fitness game by combining fitness, fun and cinema in one venue.
David and Amber Lewis opened beatsGX on October 9, where classes are a mix of strength, mind-body, dance, athletic training and combat taught by fitness instructors and on the big screen by instructors worldwide.
The darkened studio combined with club lighting, sound system and large cinematic fitness screen creates an atmosphere to strip away all inhibition, offering a fun way to stay healthy and exercise.
Mr Lewis has travelled the world looking at and helping fitness operators improve their group fitness businesses.
The former Les Mills Asia Pacific chief executive saw a gap in the Perth market for quality classes delivered in an innovative way.
“Throughout the past nine years I have seen thousands of clubs, programs and instructors and I am bringing all that experience to beatsGX,” he said.
“We came up with the idea for beatsGX when we realised that the opportunity to attend group fitness classes as much as we liked to because of work and family commitments was limited.
“It’s hard for a lot of people to get motivated to keep fit, so creating a fun way to get people excited about fitness has been inspiring.”
The Royce Court gym is open to people of all ages, shapes and sizes and has no gym floor or lines of treadmills.
