EB Games will close at least 19 stores across the country as they announce massive discounts
Video game and electronic retailer EB Games has revealed to customers it will be closing around 19 stores across the country.
The company sent emails out to loyal customers on Wednesday, informing of the store closures and massive discount offers.
According to the emails, four locations could be shutting down in NSW, Queensland and South Australia, two in Victoria and Western Australia and one in the ACT as soon as January 25.
A spokesperson told 7NEWS the move is expected to result in a number of job losses, though staff could be offered positions in surrounding stores.
“After careful consideration, we will be closing 19 unprofitable stores at the end of January,” the spokesperson said.
Sales of between 20 and 60 percent have been advertised before some stores are expected to shut up shop on the Australia Day long weekend.
